The Constructing Hope Capital Campaign
……. Put your compassion into action
A new Client Service Center in East Gainesville
The need is growing and we need to grow too!
Catholic Charities has an amazing opportunity to build a new facility on the Eastside of Gainesville that will help meet the community’s need for services well into the future. This exciting project will allow Catholic Charities to expand its programs, offer new training opportunities for client self sufficiency and provide enhanced services in a facility that becomes an asset for the organization. We serve the six surrounding counties and 93% of the people we serve are not Catholic. Please join us on this exciting journey to be the Body of Christ to our brothers and sisters in need.
How will a new building help?
There are so many services that we can provide if we only had more space.
- Refrigerator and freezer space for donations of fresh fruits and vegetables and frozen foods.
- Increase classes including healthy ways to cook, budgeting and money management and job training skills.
- Our new training room will be equipped with a computer so clients can apply for food stamps on line or complete applications for jobs.
- Summer we would love to be a lunch site for kids who receive free and/or reduced price lunches.
- Expansion of our Counseling and Family Mediation programs
- Development of our Adoptions program to include a full time Pregnancy Program.
Is now the right time to build?
Several years ago Ken and Linda McGurn donated property to Catholic Charities for a new building. The generous donation is located directly across the parking lot from our current office. This donation makes our plans to build feasible, reasonable and profitable. We needed to rent additional space this year and it has become obvious that by converting our rent payments into mortgage payments we can cover half the cost of the new building. This will allow us to create an asset for the organization. The construction market is such that we can construct the building we need at much less than we ever imagined. Our rent will repay the mortgage from the Diocese and with your help we can truly put compassion into action. Our Board of Directors, Honorary Board and our staff are deeply committed to the project and with your help it can become a reality.
How can you help….
We need your help to meet our mission. For Catholic Charities this will be a once in a lifetime capital request. Your investment in our project will help to insure that those less fortunate have the services they need to help them through life’s crises and that we have maintained a strong continued presence in Gainesville for years to come. We ask your prayerful consideration for this project. And we thank you for all you’ve done for Catholic Charities in the past.
